Creo que aqu=ED puede estar la fuente de tu problema, Montse. 
Si declaraste un campo como varchar(3) --de echo, cualquier forma 
de char--, y has de comparar su valor con constantes en un 'query', 
debes encerrar la constante en comillas sencillas. Por ejemplo:
"select ... where codi_assignatura=3D'$input{'assignatura'}';"

Un consejo: siempre termina tus 'queries' con ';'.
