[Pgsql-ayuda] problemas con postgrsql 7.3.3

Estoy instalando postgresql 7.3.3 en LINUX 

Despues de realizar el config..., gmake, etc al momento de llegar al
paso de initdb -D /usr/local/pgsql/data .... me marca el siguiente
error:

PANIC: The database cluster was initialized with PG_CONTROL_VERSION 71,
but the server was compiled with PG_CONTROL_VERSION 72. It looks like
you need to initdb

Aborted

Ya modifque el archivo PG_VERSION A 7.3 y nada. Originalmente tenia  7.1

Sugerencias?
