Miraste la URL que mande?  Hay hartos ejemplos.

Una cosa que puede ser de interes: en Postgres puedes escribir procedimientos
almacenados en muchos lenguajes, al menos
- PL/perl
- PL/pgSQL (similar a PL/SQL)
- SQL
- C
- PL/R (lenguaje para procesamiento estadistico)
- PL/sh
- PL/python
- PL/ruby

Hay otros.
