Distinguidos miembros de academia, si alguno de ustedes esta interesado en investigación y desarrollo de energías sustentables  bajo el esquema de proyectos colaborativos, esta invitación puede ser de su interés.

El Consejo británico, la SENER y el CONACYT Convocan a través del Fondo Newton en México a los Talleres que en el Reino Unido se impartirán para dar a conocer a detalle dicha Convocatoria.

Fechas a considerar para los talleres: 17  de mayo en Londres y 19 de mayo en Manchester, deberán confirmar a más tardar el 11 de mayo a las 14:00 horas, tiempo del Reino Unido.

En cuanto a la Convocatoria la fecha límite para enviar sus propuestas es el 13 de Junio a las 16:00 horas, tiempo del Reino Unido.

We recently opened a call in Mexico under the Newton Fund along with our Mexican partners SENER (Ministry of Energy) and CONACyT, and we believe that your institution could benefit from this opportunity.

The British Council's lead for the Newton Fund in Mexico, Liliana Carral, would like to invite you to attend one of two workshops she will host in the UK in May. The workshops will enable you to identify opportunities for collaboration in Mexico, will help you get a better understanding of the open call, and will be a unique opportunity to have your questions answered.

The Newton Fund builds scientific and innovation partnerships with 16 partner countries to support their economic development and social welfare, and to develop their research and innovation capacity for long-term sustainable growth. It has a total UK Government investment of £735 million up until 2021, with matched resources from the partner countries.

The Newton Fund is managed by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and delivered through 15 UK Delivery Partners, which include the Research Councils, the UK Academies, the British Council, Innovate UK and the Met Office.

Who could benefit from these calls?

Principal investigators willing to develop research in Energetic Sustainability with Mexico based in non-for profit institutions. The Call has two modalities:

Modality I: research for the elaboration of opinions, manuals, recommendations or publications that help public policy for the efficient management of energy in Mexico.  This modality will enable multidisciplinary research and potential for social sciences to get funding for research for public policy and/or orientate the research landscape in energetic sustainability in Mexico.

Modality II: technological developments, these activities are expected to be at least in Technological Maturity Level 2 (NASA TRL 2) and maximum in Level 3 (NASA TRL3). This modality will enable the development of energy technologies with the potential to pursue further funding through initiatives like Mission Innovation among others.

Associate partners could indirectly benefit from this call, whether it's for profit or non-for profit institutions like technology transfer offices or business, NGOs and Civil organisations under the understanding that they won't be receiving funds but will be able to join the activities and be supported to be part of the working groups.

£70,000 to £80,000 to support the establishment of UK -Mexico working groups to develop Research, Development and Innovation projects in Energetic Sustainability.
