> La reseña de este taller se presenta a continuacion:
>
> "Although tremendous scientific progress has been made in recent times,
> the way we train our research students has remained basically the same -
> we practice apprenticeship. We offer our students courses on selected
> subjects, but we do not really teach them how to do research. Rather, by
> putting a student in a laboratory, we expect him or her to learn by
> trial and error everything there is to know. This process can be both
> highly inefficient and frustrating.
>
> Dr. Sun has organized this course in order to bypass the trial and error
> process, and to teach student investigators the skills needed to become
> research scientists. Students will learn how to analytically approach a
> project, as well as how to get any technique to work reproducibly and
> predictably, saving valuable time and resources. Students will also
> learn how to read and understand the literature, and are given tips on
> how to organize resources for quick and efficient reference. In
> addition, this course trains the student how to organize and write a
> scientific paper and how to give both a memorable and professional
> speech. A graduate student and/or young scientist will leave this course
> knowing the skills they must master in order to excel in a research career.
>
> Les envio una copia del poster que hemos preparado para anunciar la
> visita del Dr. Tung-Tien Sun al Departamento.
> Consideramos que el taller sera de gran interes para nuestros
> estudiantes. Por lo mismo el Dr. Juan Pedro Luna y yo consideramos que
> la asistencia de los estudiantes es de caracter obligatorio.
>
> Les envio saludos y reitero mi invitación
