instalar pg, como? (fwd)

Hola lista!

he tratado de instalar el módulo pg (perl<->postgres), pero me manda un
error que de plano no entiendo, les agradecería su ayuda. Espero no se
molesten por lo largo del correo.

1.- baje el pgsql_perl5-1.6.1.tar.gz
2.- tar -xzf ""    ""
3.- perl Makefile.PL:

$POSTGRESHOME not defined. Searching for Postgres...
Unable to determine $POSTGRESHOME !

4.- le puse a mano el $POSTGRESHOME como /usr (parece que solo busca un
directorio que tenga /lib, y segun mis mortales conocimientos postgres
esta en /usr/bin)

5.- perl Makefile.PL:

7.- y de ahi, ni idea, el make test, (me vuelvo root, make test):

estoy usando Redhat 5.0.mx, en una PII, con
un buen de espacio, y de memoria
