       $PERL_VERSION
       $^V     The revision, version, and subversion of the Perl interpreter, 

       $OSNAME
       $^O     The name of the operating system under which this copy of Perl 

chance este en ese "man" lo que buscas. Por cierto, en RH también puedes hacer
"man perlvar" ;)
